Brody: strep and bronchitis

Well it looks like Brody has his first bout of Strep throat! He came down with a bad cough on Thursday so I started breathing treatments with Albuterol. I spend the night with my parents on Thursday(track meet night for Brandon) and he started running a low fever, 99.5. Luckily my dad was off on Friday and after hearing his cough Friday morning and i sounding worse, we decided he needed to stay home with Papa!

Last night he really wasn't feeling better and in the middle of the night he start running 101-102 fever. It came down quickly with Motrin so I was hoping it was just a 24 hour bug. Of course the fever returned around noon right after our pediatrician closes! He went down hill quickly and his cough is just awful. Knowing Strep is going around his class, I decided to take him into CareNow so we could start him on antibiotics!

Thankfully I went because not only does he have Strep he also has bronchitis and the dr said he can hear lots of congestion in his lungs. He got a Rocephin shot, Omnicef, a steroid and cough medicine!! We are to check in with our pedi on Monday if we don't see improvement and to keep an eye on his cough and lungs. My poor baby is miserable and of course this is my busiest couple of weeks at work with 8th grade Science tutoring!! Please pray B gets well quickly and that the rest of our family doesn't get it!!
