Not sure if I spelled that right? I went to the hematologist before we left for Disney and learned a few interesting things, none of which were in my favor, but hey that's how it goes for me.
- First I found out that I also have a Protien S deficiency. It's another clotting disorder. This on top of Factor V adds to my risk of clotting. The doc just said that if and when we want to add to our family I will have to go back on Lovenox and then I will have to have my clotting levels checked every few weeks. I'm so blessed because she said that Dr. B did everything correct in order to keep B and I safe during my pregnancy. She also said that I'm at a higher risk to get severe pre-eclampsia and that I will have to watch out for that as well.
- She also asked about my thyroid because she could feel that it was enlarged. I had just gone in to Dr. B's office to get my levels checked because I've been feeling off and sluggish. So the very next day Dr. B's nurse called to tell me that something was going on with my thyroid and that I needed to go see a specialist(great!) My functioning thyroid is normal meaning I'm not hypo or hyper but my TSH level was through the roof! A normal level is between a 4-6 and my level was a 117! This is obivously alarming and not normal but I cannot get in to see the specialist until Aug. 6th! Usually if your TSH levels are elevated then your functioning thyroid level is also off, but mine is not. Meaning my thyroid is working properly but I'm producing too much thyroid horomone. So we started back on my thyroid meds in hopes to bring down the TSH level and get it under control. But this comes with a risk of lowering my functioning thyroid levels too low. I've done a little research and have found a few things that could be causing this but figured I should just wait until I have further testing done and hope that all it needs is some meds to clear up my levels.
Til next time,
LeAnn

Disney Trip
This week flew by while we were at Disney. I have more pics but at the moment I cannot find my other camera...it's in one of the other bags that drove back with Poppy. I think my favorite time was the day my parents, Brandon, Brody and I went to MGM. It wasn't too hot or muggy, had a nice breeze and got to do all the rides we were wanting to do. My other favorite day was when we went shopping with Andy and Ben and then Andy and I went to Magic Kingdom by ourselves, it was great one on one time that I haven't had with him in along time. We loved the Mr. Potato head store and got lots of goodies.

Happy 1st Father's Day
Sunday, June 21st was B's first father's day.
We celebrated father's day in Disney this year and had a real low key day. Went to Magic Kingdom and then hung out at the hotel.
Thanks for being such a great daddy and husband! I love watching you with Brody and he adores you. His favorite thing is to watch baseball with his daddy.
My boys:
I love you B!

Can you believe that 1 year ago today we found out we were pregnant. One year ago we were looking at the above and now we are holding this guy!
How things can change in 1 year, this one has definitely been one of the greatest changes of our lives. We love you little man!

4 months!
Saturday, June 20th also marked Brody turning 4 months! It's hard to believe I have a 4 month old.
We don't go to the doctor until June 30th for his 4 month check up and shots :( I didn't want to do it the day before we left for Disney in case he ran fever so I decided to wait until we returned.
He's getting so big though! I know he has to be at least 13-14lbs and he's gotten a lot longer as well.
He is sleeping through the night! He has been for about 3 weeks now and I love it. Not only does he sleep through the night but he also sleeps in until about 9:30, usually waking at 5:30 and 9:30 to eat.
He is still straight breast fed but I'm thinking the doctor might tell us to introduce cereal now, but not sure if he will do that now or wait until 6 months.
Brody is also sticking everything in his mouth that he can(I think teeth are right around the corner) and loves to grab for his toys.
He is taking a bath in the big tub now, he's too long for the baby tub :( but he is loving it. We havea bath cushion/sponge thing and it gives him a lot of freedom to move and kick around.
Happy 4 months booger!

1st plane ride
Saturday, June 20th
Well we are off to Florida for our Disney trip! We left TX at 9:40 and Brody did great. He ate right before take off and slept during take off for about 45 minutes. Then he woke up and played a little, ate and played some more. He fell alseep during landing and I couldn't have asked for a smoother ride!
I was a bit nervous traveling with such a small/young child. I wasn't sure how he would like the plane and if it would bother his ears but he didn't seem to mind at all.

New Toy
B got me the Canon XSI for my birthday and I'm loving it. I'm still learning but love the 50 mm f/1.8 lense the most so far. You could drop a lot of dough on lenses alone, I already need to save up for the next lense that I want, Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 II USM lens. I will probably be saving for a year or so but it will be well worth it.

B got the job!!
It's been a whirlwind of a week. Brandon got a call earlier this week for a job interview, he actually got two calls. He was offered the job at his first interview and gladly accepted!! We are beyond thrilled. Praise God, he is so amazing. Thanks for all the prayers.
He is now apart of the Pike Panther's team in the Northwest ISD, teaching 7th grade Science and coaching.
I'm super excited that he's teaching Science as its the same subject I'm teaching and we can feed off each other our ideas and lessons.
Brody and I are going to soak up as much daddy time as we can considering he will NEVER be home, I am now a coaches wife or widow as they like to say.

Pics and 16 weeks
I love summer! This week has been awesome. I love being home with Brody. He really is the best baby and very happy go lucky. He loves having mommy home!
He is still sleeping through the night, in fact he sleeps in, which is just like his momma. I'm in no way a morning person and love to sleep in til 10 am. He goes to bed around 10, wakes up at 6 am to eat then back to bed until 9:45 or 10 :) LOVE IT
He is also holding his head up amazingly well and has started rolling over from back to belly. He rolled from belly to back a few weeks ago and now is getting the back to belly down pretty good. He loves playing on his mat and his new favorite thing is so put his fingers in his mouth and chew on them or anything else he can find, usually his blanket. He is also grabbing at toys now and holds his paci. He loves to sing with his daddy, watch baseball and help with laundry.
Can you believe in 16 short weeks we went from this:
To this!
It amazes me how fast he is growing.
Starting to get the hang of this bumbo

Almost summer
Its so close I can taste it!! 1 1/2 more days with students 3 days until I'm done!! I cannot wait. Ohhhh laaaaa laaaa this summer is going to be the best.
Little update on the family:
Brandon and Brody have been staying home together last week and this week, it's awesome. I love the fact that I don't have to pack Brody and his million things in the morning. I also don't have to wake him either and he is proving to be just like his momma...not getting up until 9:30 or 10! It's awesome. He definitely loves his daddy and talks up a storm with Brandon.
Brandon doesn't have Alpha Thalassemia trait! So we don't have to worry about future children.
Momma is doing good as well. Wrapping up the school year is always hectic. I'm VERY frustrated with my weight. The last 8 pounds WILL NOT COME OFF. I'm not sure if its my thyroid again or what. What is so frustrating is that I don't diet and I stay the same weight...I diet AND I STAY THE SAME WEIGHT...how is that possible. I can eat ice cream everynight and McDonald's breakfast on the weekends and I weigh the same. I cut that stuff out and walk and I weigh the same, huh? That makes no sense what so ever. I'm wondering if, while dieting, I'm not consuming enough calories. I don't know!
Nursing is going well, except for the fact that I'm about to throw my pump out! It's pissing me off something fierce. Miss righty thinks its funny to leak out the bottom while pumping and makes a big ole mess! I'm not sure if my shield is too small or too big? Anyone know? It just started about a week ago and Miss Lefty doesn't do it...ummmmmm?
I'm getting braces(Lord help me). I had braces 7 years ago and just didn't wear my retainer the way I should have. They aren't terrible but it's getting to the point where I don't want to smile in pictures...so I figured it was time to get these bad boys straightened out. I got the spacer in today and go back on the 16th to get the braces on...I'll be brace face for about 10-12 months.
I also got a call from Dr. B and I'm having to go to a hematologist(blood specialist). I'm not sure exactly why she is sending me, her nurse just said she wants further testing done on my clotting factors and to make sure there is nothing else out there that I may or may not have. I don't know if I mentioned this before but the Alpha Thalassemia trait is very UNCOMMON amongst white people. It's usually found in black or Mediterrian decent. SO, she wants to look future to see what's going on with my weird blood chemistry and to make sure we take the appropriate steps for next pregnancy. I'm pretty nervous about this, I don't know if y'all have noticed but everytime my blood gets tested, something messed up comes back on it!
Brody is getting huge! I look at his newborn clothes and I'm like, how did he ever fit into those? He is grabbing at toys now, can roll over from belly to back and is almost rolling over from back to belly. He's getting better head control, he is still a bobble head but definitely getting better and he loves sitting up to look around. He just recently starting watching tv and only watches baseball(wonder where he got that from)
If y'all could please say a prayer that Brandon gets a job this year! They are starting to interview for positions for next school year and I'm really hoping he gets something.
Til next time,
LeAnn
