This little boy has grown very close to my heart! My heart is aching right now for him and his family. Please, please pray for him and his family. His heart needs some strength to get through this spell of SVT so that the doc's can figure out what to do next.

5 months
Yesterday Brody turned 5 months!! I cannot believe how big he is getting. It is such a happy baby and I have LOVED every moment of this summer with him. I'm so blessed to have this time at home with him and will soak up as much as I can of my last few weeks of summer.
We actually had to make a trip to the doctor's office because Brody was running a fever anywhere from 100-101.6 since Sunday.
He weighed 15 lbs 1 oz! That's 6 oz in 3 days!
They pricked his finger to draw blood to check his white count and that was the saddest thing ever! He already felt terrible and then the nurse had to keep squeezing his little finger to get more blood and oh he cried and looked up at that nurse like why are you doing this...it was such a pathetic cry! Brody has another virus, this is the 2nd one in two weeks! His fever broke over night but it's now back, lower than yesterday though so I think he's getting a little better. If he's still running fever tomorrow I have to take him back in.
What you are doing at 5 months:
- You now love your cereal and vegetables! It definitely took you a few weeks to warm up to cereal and get use to it but now you cannot get enough of it and get so excited when I put a bib on.
- You are rolling over from back to belly all the time! Especially to reach for toys
- You take your paci out and put it back in
- You love to reach for your bowl when I'm feeding you, toys and people's glasses
- You found your scream and temper...you are a lot like your mom!
- You are VERY weary of men, you have to warm up to them and sometimes you just won't have anything to do with them.
- You are saying I love you and Hi (I know most people thing I'm tripping but you really do say it)
Love you sweet cheeks!

5 month pictures - Botanical Gardens
We went to the park today to take some pictures. I definitely want to go back this week because there were a lot of shots we didn't get because B was getting hungry and hot. I still have to edit some of these shots but here's some that look really good. It's hard to get "good" shots with a 5 month old and I'm still pretty new at the whole taking photos with a good camera!
So serious!

Loving Life and Food!
Things are good here at our household. We are finally over our stomach bug that lasted 6 days!
We took a break while his stomach was upset from eating cereal but when we started back up Brody was not liking his cereal at all! He wouldn't really even eat it. So we moved on to vegetables and he did the same thing with peas, really can't blame him there. So momma decided to give him something yummy, sweet potatoes, and he loves them! I now "trick" him and give a bite of cereal quickly followed by a bite of sweet potatoe. Tonight he ate half a jar of sweet potatoes, cereal and mashed pa-titty, as we call it, and still could have had more if I didn't cut him off. So he's definitely starting to enjoy food.
We went with Mandy and Nina this morning for her 2 month appt and I had Brody weighed to see how much he is now and he's 14lbs and 11 oz, just shy of 1 lbs in 3 weeks!
Brody is also starting to laugh out loud a lot. I put him in his bumbo earlier and he just started laughing for 5 minutes straight. He also loves it when his daddy kisses his belly, he will laugh nonstop when he does that.
He has found his feet but really isn't too into them like most babies are and he has found his temper. He gets so frustrated when something cannot fit into his mouth that he scrunches up his nose and screams at whatever it is or throw it.
His favorite thing to do right now is take his paci out and put it back in or throw it because he can't get it in his mouth correctly. Today he was cracking me up because he would put it in upside down and get the most confused look on his face!
He is still going to bed at 9:30-10pm and sleeping until 9:30-10:00 am waking at 6am to eat. I love it!

Sickness!
Brody and I have been sick all week. What I thought was teething soon turned to worry on Monday when Brody was extremely fussy and just wasn't himself. I thought for sure we had an ear infection. So off to the night clinic we went and the doctor noticed Brody had a rash on his chest from a virus.
I too started running fever around this time and although the doctor said it was probably just a cold I thought differently, I never run fever when I have a cold.
That night I started having the BIG D as I call it and it hasn't left since. Brody has had both, throwing up and the BIG D. I haven't been able to old anything in :( I figured it was just a 24 hour bug but gosh it's still with us. I'm just hoping that we aren't passing it back and forth to one another.
I've heard whatever is going around is lasting 7-10 days...I sure it leaves my house soon because we are miserable. The saddest thing is when B doesn't feel good, you feel so helpless it almost breaks your heart. Poor kiddo.

4 month old pictures
I decided to do a little photo session of little man for his 4 month old pictures. I'm still learning and have asked Santa for Photoshop and another lens so that I can be a little more creative with my editing and photography but here's a few pics I snapped today while B was still happy.
It's been a rough couple of days here at our casa because B is starting to teeth so he's been letting us know how much discomfort those toothies are! Man it's rough teething!!
This first one is my favorite I think...can you tell what his new favorites things are...gotta love those hands!
Gotta love those baby blues

1st cereal
We started cereal this week with Brody and he's still getting the hang of it. He really doesn't know what to do with it once I put it in his mouth so he either plays with it forever and then swallows it or just spits it back out at me. It's really funny to watch. After about the 3rd spoon full though he figures it out and will start eating it right. We are still getting the hang of it. Here's some pictures of his first time eating it.
Give me the spoon momma, I'll do it myself!
All done?
We will stay with cereal for about 2 more weeks and then when he turns 5 months
I'm going to start with vegetables. He has peas for week 1, sweet potatoes for week 2and carrots week 3. Then we will move on to fruit which is apples, bananas and pears.
***Sorry the coloring is off on these pics, the WB was switched to shadow instead of auto so it threw them off a little***
***I think that's what caused the coloring to be off, I'm still learning!***

Happy 3rd Anniversary
3 years ago, at this very moment B and I were wrapping up our wedding reception and looking at each other with excitement in our eyes over the upcoming honeymoon that we would find ourselves on the very next morning.
3 years ago we thought we were so in love with one another that our love couldn't grow any stronger
3 years ago we were "newlyweds" that didn't have a care in the world
And today, today I love that very same man more than I thought possible.
This year has been different for both B and I.
This year has been the hardest, the happiest, the one filled with the most personal growth for both of us. This year we have been blessed beyond our wildest dreams, this year our cup runneth over.
Today I was told by my husband that my arse looks as good as it did the day he married me...I take this as a great compliment considering I just had a kid 4 months ago, thanks babe!
Today we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary as a family of 3 and look forward to another wonderful year of marriage, love and family. I cannot wait to see where we will be in another year.
